From Dave Sleger of AllMusic.com:

Sigmund Snopek earned his reputation throughout the ’70s as a classical and jazz-influenced, tongue-in-cheek, pop-progster who even dabbled in new wave when the situation dictated (First Band on the Moon). While Beer finds Snopek‘s zany, self-deprecating, regional humor untouched, you can toss all that other sophisticated, resumé-adorning stuff out the window. This recording is simply dedicated to beer and its many virtues, along with its inherent link to Wisconsin via polkas, odes, Irish traditionals, and appealingly goofy ditties like “Fug a Muskie,” “Bubbler in the Dome,” and “Virgin Sturgeon.” The Cryptosporidium reference in “Thank God This Isn’t Cleveland” is a real gas; however, the dorky “Wisconsinisms” may not fly very well with out-of-staters.”
